Website Evaluation Report

Evaulators

The evaluator was Carlos Sanford, a close friend of mine since high school. Carlos has been around St. Louis his whole entire life. He has also invested time into the creative fields and would benefit highly from this website. The user used a mac book pro and google chrome to view the site and review it.

The evaluator was Alex Orr, another close friend of mine since high school. Alex has created his clothing brand off the theme of St. Louis. He would be able to use the site to find potential employees digital projects for his brand. The user used his iPhone 8 and safari to review the website.

The last evaluator was Erica Jones, my sister who lives St. Louis with me. Erica has been a professional photographer and graphic designer in the St. Louis area. She could use the site to connect and find future clients. She used her MacBook pro and google chrome to view this website

All the evaluators seemed to agree that the site was easy to navigate through and the text was easy to read. The site got good reviews in all of the designs area of the evaluation. The multimedia seemed to load well for each user and served it’s purpose. Some evaluators did not think highly of the grammar throughout the website. As that seemed to get the lowest rates in the evaluations. The credibility section got almost perfect scores, as it is a credit to me putting the creators of the designs in the website itself.

Cases

The pilot site does not directly address all the cases on the design document. Most of the cases involved pages that were not yet coded and ready to be use. The site is supposed to be for STL people to show off and connect their designs with other people in the area. The pilot site was ultimately just not enough for what the site’s purpose is supposed to be.

Improvements

Add more CSS: Many of my reviews stated that I need to make the website pop more and add something to the navigation bar. I think the site needs more to it to catch the eye of the user. It will make the site look more professional and user friendly.

Navigation bar: The navigation bar was good based on the reviews but one review said it needed to be less basic. I was also not a fan of the navigation bar I made and wanted to make sure it looked better for the final site. I think this will give the site a new fresh look.

All the evaluation I did for the website helped me make changes to my original vision of the website. I think the peer and classmate feedback helped the most as it gave me a clear response on website and gave people a chance to click through the site. I learned a lot about CSS through this process and how important it is. If your site is simply coded in just html it does not have the same effect or look as good as one that uses CSS well.
